The 2027 quarterback class features an intriguing mix of high-ceiling vertical passers and dynamic second-reaction creators. It's one of the most anticipated draft classes in quite some time.

1. Arch Manning (Texas)

Traits & Film Summary: The physical profile is exactly what NFL front offices draw up, but the real surprise on film is how quickly Manning processes coverage and how fast he can escape when the pocket breaks down. His downfield ball placement along the sidelines is already matching Sunday standards. If there is a knock on his game right now, it is that he can still lean too heavily on his raw arm talent; Manning needs to develop better touch variation and an internal clock when cycling to his checkdowns. Even so, the sheer upside makes him the clear-cut prize of this upcoming draft class.

2. Dante Moore (Oregon)

Traits & Film Summary: Moore possesses some of the most effortless natural arm talent and pure passing mechanics in the underclassman pool. Operating the explosive Oregon offense, he displays an elite ability to layer throws into tight intermediate windows with high-velocity anticipation. Improving pocket navigation under interior pressure remains his key developmental hurdle, but his raw arm talent gives him elite draft upside.

3. Julian Sayin (Ohio State)

Traits & Film Summary: Sayin is the premier rhythm-and-anticipation passer of this group. He possesses an incredibly quick, compact release and elite short-to-intermediate accuracy. While Sayin lacks the elite raw arm power of Manning or Moore, his pre-snap diagnostic skills and textbook footwork make him an incredibly safe, high-floor target for West Coast offensive schemes.

4. LaNorris Sellers (South Carolina)

Traits & Film Summary: Sellers is a physically imposing, tools-heavy dual-threat quarterback built in the mold of modern creative creators. Boasting a massive frame and elite contact balance as a runner, he puts immense stress on defensive structures. As a passer, he flashes immense downfield arm strength, though his lower-body mechanical consistency needs a boost to maximize his draft stock.

5. CJ Carr (Notre Dame)

Traits & Film Summary: Carr displays exceptional mental processing and procedural operation from within the pocket. He is incredibly smart with his eyes, manipulating safeties out of position to open up throwing lanes downfield. You are not going to see him pull off many explosive, off-script runs, but his operational efficiency and deep-ball trajectory make him a perfect fit for a traditional NFL system.

6. Trinidad Chambliss (Ole Miss)

Traits & Film Summary: After a historic College Football Playoff semi-final run, Chambliss elected to bypass the draft and return to Oxford after getting a court injunction against the NCAA. He is a battle-tested, high-variance playmaker who excels at second-reaction creation. Standing 6'1", he wins with exceptional competitive toughness and layered off-platform throws. Tightening his base to eliminate occasional erratic ball placement will be his primary focus this season.

7. Darian Mensah (Miami)

Traits & Film Summary: Mensah generated plenty of headlines with his transfer from Duke to Miami, and now he gets to pilot a quarterback-friendly offense that fits his skillset perfectly. He possesses an incredibly smooth over-the-top release and remains remarkably poised when the pocket gets muddy around him. Mensah loves to drive the ball outside the numbers, but proving he can consistently sit in the pocket and work through his third progression will dictate his first-round outlook.

8. Drew Mestemaker (Oklahoma State)

Traits & Film Summary: A former zero-star walk-on who exploded at North Texas, Mestemaker transferred to Stillwater under Eric Morris and immediately earned Preseason Big 12 Newcomer honors. He possesses an incredibly live arm and deep-ball touch that fits beautifully into a vertical vertical passing game. Scouts want to see how his diagnostic timing handles stouter power-conference defensive schemes this fall.

9. CJ Bailey (NC State)

Traits & Film Summary: Bailey is a fascinating developmental project because of his massive physical dimensions and how fast he is improving week to week. He can drop beautiful bucket throws down the seam and has the mobility to pull the ball down and escape edge pressure. He is still a bit raw when it comes to footwork synchronization and knowing when to take the velocity off his shorter touch throws, making him a high-upside gamble.

10. Sam Leavitt (LSU)

Traits & Film Summary: An incredibly gritty player, Leavitt is an athletically fluid signal-caller who excels when the play breaks down. He features excellent spin rate on his deep throws and shows great velocity when throwing on the move. Proving he can play with disciplined structure and take profits underneath will be key to ascending into the premium tiers of the class.
